Project Overview
Annette Douglas lives and works with a deep commitment to textiles in every fibre of her practice. The rug “Twist” reflects this material-oriented approach, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary textile design. Produced as a limited edition, the rug was available in three different colour combinations and was first presented at the Neue Räume fair in Zurich in 2019.

Material and Design
The characteristic natural appearance results from the combination of selected materials, including: goat hair, wool and imitation leather. A deliberate colour twist introduces subtle visual accents, giving the object a lively textile expression. The octagonal geometry emphasises the sculptural character of the rug. Dimensions: 170 × 170 cm

Production
“Twist” was conceived as a generational project and is produced in a small Swiss manufactory. The rugs are crafted in collaboration with dedicated senior artisans, supporting the transfer of traditional knowledge while promoting social sustainability.

Design Impact
The rug combines materiality, craftsmanship and timeless form into an autonomous textile object positioned between design, craft and personal expression.
