Project Overview
Villa Ehinger, a classicist Neo-Renaissance building near Basel, is a listed cultural monument and today primarily used for music education at the Gymnasium Münchenstein, as well as occasional concerts.

Acoustic Solution
The transparent acoustic curtain STREAMER classic (αw 0.8) integrates harmoniously into the historic interior. The translucent textile allows natural daylight to flow through the space while significantly improving room acoustics for music lessons and performances. The curtain enhances acoustic comfort without visually dominating the architecture and is flame-retardant, meeting safety requirements for educational and cultural buildings.

Application

  • transparent acoustic curtain STREAMER classic
  • sound absorption coefficient αw 0.8
  • installation in music teaching and concert spaces
  • preservation of daylight and architectural character
  • improved acoustic quality for music and speech

Architectural Impact
The project demonstrates how textile acoustic solutions can sensitively enhance historic architecture while supporting contemporary cultural use.

Textile acoustic solutions by Annette Douglas Textiles improve room acoustics, are flame-retardant, and preserve architectural transparency and design intent.
