Project Overview
Hürlemann Architects, together with Peter Kunz Architects, accompanied the planning and design of Skyframe’s new headquarters in Frauenfeld. The result is a distinctive industrial building that brings together production, offices and a visitor centre within a clear architectural concept. Skyframe is internationally known for its transparent, frameless glass systems, enabling maximum openness and visual lightness. This architectural approach also defines the new building, where transparency and precision become key design principles.

Acoustic Solution
Acoustic curtains made from LIQUID classic (αw 0.5) were installed in meeting rooms surrounded by frameless glass façades. The translucent textiles allow natural daylight to flow through the spaces while improving acoustic comfort and speech intelligibility. The curtains provide visual discretion for meetings, integrate seamlessly into the minimalist architecture and are flame-retardant, meeting safety requirements for workplace environments.

Application

  • acoustic curtain LIQUID classic
  • sound absorption coefficient αw 0.5
  • installation in glass-enclosed meeting rooms
  • preservation of daylight and transparency
  • improved acoustic comfort and privacy

Architectural Impact
The project demonstrates how textile acoustic solutions can enhance minimalist glass architecture by balancing transparency, discretion and acoustic performance.

Textile acoustic solutions by Annette Douglas Textiles improve room acoustics, are flame-retardant, and preserve architectural transparency and design intent.
