Project Overview
In Reinach near Basel, the architects Burckhardt Partner transformed a former office building into a contemporary music school for the Municipality of Reinach. The refurbishment followed a clear principle: minimal structural intervention combined with maximum reuse of existing, recycled and renewable building materials.

Acoustic Challenge
Teaching and rehearsal spaces require controlled acoustics to support communication, musical practice and concentration. The existing building structure and flexible spatial use demanded adaptable acoustic solutions without major construction changes.

Acoustic Solution
Annette Douglas Textiles developed customized acoustic curtain systems throughout the building. Textile solutions improve reverberation control while contributing to spatial atmosphere and architectural coherence. The acoustic curtains enhance speech intelligibility and support focused learning and creative exchange while remaining visually integrated into the design concept.
