Project Overview
Basel-based Christ & Gantenbein Architects designed a new R&D campus for LIST, a global leader in high-viscosity processing. The project consists of five fan-shaped building volumes accommodating offices, meeting rooms, an auditorium and testing facilities, expressed through a clear industrial architectural language.

Acoustic Solution
Transparent acoustic curtains made from STREAMER pro (αw 0.8) integrate seamlessly into the industrial interior. The translucent textiles allow natural daylight to flow through the spaces while improving acoustic comfort and speech intelligibility. The rhythmic waves of the curtain align with the fanned metal ceiling, creating a coherent spatial dialogue between architecture and textile. The curtains are flame-retardant and meet demanding safety requirements for research environments.

Application

  • transparent acoustic curtain STREAMER pro
  • sound absorption coefficient αw 0.8
  • integration into industrial architectural interiors
  • preservation of daylight and spatial transparency
  • improved acoustic comfort in work and meeting spaces
  • flame-retardant textile for research facilities

Architectural Impact
The project demonstrates how textile acoustic solutions can complement industrial architecture by combining acoustic performance with spatial rhythm and material coherence.

Textile acoustic solutions by Annette Douglas Textiles improve room acoustics, are flame-retardant, and preserve architectural transparency and design intent.
