« Anyone seeking to conduct research and to be inventive must be able to ask questions and think outside the box. Design is generally something that is done for the eyes yet Annette Douglas's products also appeal to the other senses. Textile design focused on hearing was an exciting challenge to us acousticians »

textiles for room acoustics
Textile concepts with a focus on the sense of hearing: Annette Douglas Textiles is the brand for acoustic textiles solutions.
That is why she pursues applied research and invented the CTI research project in 2009. Annette Douglas carried out this research project in collaboration with the EMPA (Federal Laboratories for Materials Science & Technology) in her capacity as the initiator, project manager and commercial partner. The first translucent acoustic fabric collection, the «Silent Space Collection» Annette Douglas Textiles ACOUSTICS ®, the original.
The collection is characterized by elegance, unique design, tactile quality, excellent absorption values of alpha w 0.5 to alpha w 0.8, and the favorable price-performance ratio. And they even surprised the acoustics planners, when they see the corresponding characteristic values.
Besides projects developed with «Silent Space Collection» she can point out a number of other innovative acoustic projects. The project development is done in close cooperation with acoustic engineers, planners, architects and builders. For example, the embroidered acoustic panels in the open space office Jacob Burckhardt in Basel, the music hall on the Monastery Island Rheinau, «Mono-Toni» and «Multi-Toni» for over 200 music rooms, designed for the Zurich University of the Arts Toni Areal in Zurich or the acoustic concert curtain for the Concert Hall in Toni Areal in Zurich.
